CINDERELLA: A Salsa Fairytale

Cenicienta is a transfer student to Pumpkin Grove Middle School from Puerto Rico. She doesn’t know a lot of English, but she’s very kind, talented at math and basketball, and good at cleaning and organizing. The coolest girl in school and basketball star, Rosa, immediately picks on Cenicienta’s dorky style. Her best friend Joey tries to hype her up with his cheer skills, but he also sees that Cenicienta is just a nice girl. Oh, and Padrino is a fairy godfather in training trying to make this whole Cinderella fairy tale happen for the girl who he’s supposed to support to graduate into full fairy godfather-hood while his wife, the fairy godmother, is on vacation. But he might actually be there to help… Rosa? Bringing high energy and a playful quality to the classic Cinderella story, we wanted this production to be K-pop stylish in places and out-right magical in others.
